For Kickstarter's #ZineQuest3 this year, we ran campaigns for four different zine projects that we're really excited about. Three are polymorph zines, and one is a meta-zine collection about ZineQuest itself. Now that the Mazes Hardcover Kickstarter has concluded, we're focused this summer on fulfillment for these great projects, which means we'll have them in your hands as soon as we possibly can!
If you didn't get a chance to back these projects during the original campaigns, good news! You can still pre-order and receive any or all of them as soon as they're hot off the presses. Read on for details on all four fantabulous projects...
The Very Good Dogs of Chernobyl
A modern, occult horror RPG of telepathic dogs.
In 1986, a meltdown in reactor 4 at the Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Nuclear Power Plant in Soviet Ukraine occurred, punching a hole in reality that allowed creatures of darkness and madness to escape into our world.
The tragedy that befell Pripyat, the town built to house the families of the workers at the power plant, is well known. These people were forced to flee, to abandon their lives, their homes, and even their loyal family dogs. Only those pets that fled to the woods survived the purge of the army, and the flames of the reclamators. You will play as these very good dogs.
A cinematic RPG about a "war in the stars" inspired by a deep love of old school action figures and of punching Nazis in the face.
REBEL SCUM tells the story of how scrappy, anti-fascist heroes can fight back against a government with unlimited power (including giant lasers and space magic). Inspired by a love for a certain line of 3 and 3/4 inch action figures, this is a fast paced, feel good, space opera of rebellion and adventure.
In this TTRPG, characters are all expressed as action figures, with their pertinent stats and abilities "on the back of the card." Choose your toy and get out into battle!
A narrative sword and sorcery RPG about powerful women making a difference in a barbaric world.
Does your heart beat faster at the mention of Xena: Warrior Princess, Red Sonja, or the venerable Jirel of Jorey? Do you long for tales of mighty women facing insurmountable odds? Become a part of that story with us in Savage Sisters. Become part of a family of powerful women, who look out for one another and try to defend the world!
Savage Sisters is a shared GM polymorph game. Together the group creates their Sodal, a group of powerful, warrior women who are bound together in sisterhood. This is their story. Each Savage Sister is a legendary character of the Sodal’s past that we are sharing tales of, told across a roaring fire on some far future night.
A project about our love of RPGS and zines that manifests as, yes, a set of zines about zines (aren’t we just so META? LOL). This project can be thought of as a classic “bibliography” - a book of books. Zineography is a set of 3 zines, covering ZINE QUEST 1, ZINE QUEST 2, and ZINE QUEST 3. Each volume will feature a list of the funded projects, fun facts, weird commentary, a real foreword by a real creator, and silliness inspired by YEET VS ZINE QUEST.
